JUST IN: THE BIG ISSUE FEATURING US IN PRINT AND ONLINE ABOUT OUR SOCIAL MEDIA SERIES “365 DAYS TO GET MY BAND SIGNED” alongside taylor guitars endorsement
Bailey Tomkinson is a singer-songwriter from St Ives whose sound blends coastal cowgirl spirit with modern pop ambition. With her band, The Locals, she delivers emotionally charged, guitar-driven anthems built for big stages and lasting impact.
She first gained national attention for her storytelling and independence, earning praise from The Times, Vogue, and The Metro, while also being championed by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris and appearing on BBC Radio 4’s Woman's Hour. Often noted for her evocative lyricism and magnetic presence, she has also used her platform to speak on environmental issues and grassroots activism through Music Declares Emergency’s No Music on a Dead Planet initiative.
Since forming The Locals, she has channeled that same conviction into widescreen Country Indie-Pop, music rooted in classic songwriting traditions, carried by modern energy and shaped for the open road and festival fields.
Named BBC Introducing’s “One to Watch” for 2025, the band have supported Keane and Simple Minds, shared stages with Sheryl Crow and The Red Clay Strays and played festivals including Boardmasters, Wilderness Festival, The Great Escape and The Long Road Festival. They were also hand-picked for a Live Nation showcase in London and made their AEG Presents debut at Lafayette.
Their new EP, Witching Hour, captures the band at their most vibrant and cinematic, a body of work exploring love, loss and the restless pull of youth with widescreen ambition and heartfelt honesty.
With a growing national following, more than 50K+ fans, an endorsement from Taylor Guitars, and collaborations with Wrangler, Free People and Levi’s, Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals are fast becoming the UK’s most compelling voice in Country Indie-Pop.
