UP NEXT: THE BIG ISSUE WILL BE FEATURING US IN PRINT AND ONLINE ABOUT OUR NEW SOCIAL MEDIA SERIES “365 DAYS TO GET MY BAND SIGNED” OUT MID-FEB

Bailey Tomkinson is a singer-songwriter from St Ives, Cornwall, whose music blurs the lines between heartland rock and pop ambition. With her band The Locals, she delivers emotionally charged, guitar-driven anthems built for big stages and lasting impact. She first gained national attention for her storytelling and independence, earning praise from The Times, Vogue and The Metro and appearing on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. Earning comparisons to Stevie Nicks in national press, she’s also used her platform to speak on environmental issues and grassroots activism through Music Declares Emergency’s No Music on a Dead Planet campaign. Since forming The Locals, she’s channelled that same conviction into widescreen, heartland pop-rock, music that sits somewhere between Sabrina Carpenter and Sam Fender: open-hearted, melodic and full of momentum. Named BBC Introducing’s “One to Watch” for 2025, the band have supported Keane and Simple Minds, shared stages with Sheryl Crow and The Red Clay Strays and played Boardmasters, Wilderness, The Great Escape and The Long Road Festival. Their new EP “Witching Hour” captures them at their most vibrant and cinematic, a body of work exploring love, loss and the restless pull of youth with widescreen ambition and heartfelt honesty. With a growing national following, 45K fans and collaborations with Wrangler, Free People and Levi’s, Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals are fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting new voices in heartland pop-rock.
