West country singer/songwriters DAISY CLARK AND BAILEY TOMKINSON announce new single release: “BETTy” (taylor swift cover).
Release Date: Wednesday 7th April 2021.
Emerging Cornish singer/songwriters Daisy Clark and Bailey Tomkinson have come together over a shared love of Taylor Swift to record an acoustic interpretation of Swift’s “Betty”. Singing alternate lines but then combining on soaring harmonies they weave new textures, simultaneously adding vulnerability and power whilst remaining faithful to the original.
Daisy Clark has over 6.5m views on her YouTube channel and her cover of ‘Hopelessly Devoted’ received over 12M Facebook views. The single was released by Warner in 2017 reached number 1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts, leading to her performing the song live on TV shows such as Lorraine, Blue Peter and BBC Spotlight. The same year Daisy also won Best of British unsigned artist.
She has a fan in Billie Eilish who raved about her and her voice in a Glamour Magazine video. Billie said “She has the kind of voice you just want to listen to”.
Bailey Tomkinson, hailing from St Ives, rose to national attention in February 2020 when her single “I Wish, It Didn’t End Like This” reached #1 in the iTunes charts as an unsigned artist, bringing her coverage in The Metro, The Daily Mail, The Times, Hello Magazine and BBC R4 Women’s Hour. Bailey’s follow up single also reached #1 in the iTunes country charts and was BBC Introducing’s Record of The Week. She is signed to the Select Model Talent Roster. During Lockdown Bailey has recorded live sets for Boardmasters, Levi’s, DC Shoes and the Music Feeds online concert that also featured Sam Smith and Liam Gallagher.
